Origin of the casino

The History of the Casino

The word "casino", of Italian origin, literally means "small house". It indicates a place of relaxation, away from the active heart of the city. The casino is intended for sociability, and every notable has one.

In France, the word casino is truly itself adopted the language until the mid- 19th  century in a rather special sense peddled by architects as schools of Fine Arts sent to train in Italy. The casino is first of all a village hall (meaning still preserved today) or even a performance hall such as this Cadet casino (rue Cadet, in Paris) inaugurated in 1859 or, much more famous but also much later, the Casino de Paris, which dates only to 1890.

The birth of Casino

As early as the 17th century, some wealthy patrons began to want to know the mechanisms of dice and card games: they therefore commissioned studies from brilliant astrophysicists and mathematicians, such as Galileo or Blaise Pascal, in order to identify a possible strategic plan to win. After the results were published, the craze for games soon became popular, and every opportunity was good to bet.

This is how the Europeans began their great love story with the lottery... devouring passion not having escaped the insight of certain notables and religious, who exploited this interest by organizing draws, to raise funds . Traders followed suit, realizing that it was better to put an item into play by selling many lottery tickets, rather than selling it to a single buyer.

The first Casino in the world

Gambling is a social activity that dates back to ancient history, in fact, gambling in casinos has existed for centuries across different civilizations.

The exact origin of the game is unknown. It is generally accepted that gambling in one form or another has been seen in almost every civilization in history. Much of the story is filled with entertainment stories based on games of chance.

Each civilization has documented some form of games similar to those played in casinos. The Chinese, for example, created games of chance in 2300 BC. However, these were more like bookmakers, making bets on different sports or events.

Opened in 1638, the Casinò di Venezia is what people believe to be the first casino ever built, this casino is still active today in the city of Venice in Italy. However, 토토 it may not be the first casino in history, as there would have been other constructions at the same time in the same city, but one thing is certain, Venice is the city where the first casinos were built. and the Casinò di Venezia is certainly a prime candidate to be the first casino ever built in the world.
